It revolves around the time of world war II, Japan is in the middle of the war and people are going through hell. Two siblings, Seita, a teenager with the responsibility of his younger sister, Setsuko.
After losing their mother in an American bombardment, they try their best to survive in this dreadful world, relying on each other and struggling till their last breaths.

No matter what the title says, this anime is literally the one to make your cold heart melt in the drops.
An unpopular guy from the class gets to know a secret that his classmate Yamauchi Sakura, is suffering from pancreatic disease and going to die soon.
He helps her to fulfill the "to do before dying" list without having any friendship or named relationship with her, just to make sure that he doesn't feel hurt when she leaves. Yet, becomes the most broken.
3. Violet Evergarden:-
This anime revolves around a girl who tries to reestablish herself in society and to form bonds with the people after the end of her life as a soldier.
A teenager, Violet Evergarden, without any emotions of her own, who has been only an asset to the army from her childhood to kill their enemies. Without any goal in life or the right to make her own choice, she is retired from the army after the war. She aspires to know the meaning of the last words, her Major, Gilbert told her, "I love you".
This journey is really an amusing and emotional one, So be a part of it.

This anime is what we call a true love story, full of emotions and tragic events, which definitely gets the audience into a new world of their own thoughts.
A high schooler, Tomoya confesses his love for Nagisa Furukawa. Having family problems, as he graduates, he marries to Nagisa. Giving birth to a daughter Ushio, Nagisa dies due to an illness leaving Tomoya in depression. This depression makes the father-daughter relationship timid. And due to the same illness, Ushio passes away. This incident drowns Tomoya into despair and he also leaves the world, to meet his loved once in the afterlife.
5. Your lie in April:-
This anime shows the life of a pianist, Arima Kousei, who loses his ability to play piano after suffering through a traumatic event of his mother's death. Arima goes into depression and looses, hearing of his piano's sound.
Kaori, a young girl, and a violinist help Kousei return to the music world and show him that music should be free, not rigid. She helps Arima to regain, what he has lost.
But then Kaori dies.

What happens when an alone mother takes the responsibility of her children, though, the difficulties, ordeals she may face, she never lets her children go through them.
Hana, a woman, falls in love with a ware wolf and marries him. Soon, she becomes the mother of a daughter, Yuki, and a son, Ame. But, a tragic event takes place and the man dies, leaving Hana with the children and their responsibilities. But, as we all know, a mother never gives up, when it comes to her children, similarly, Hana takes on the daily problems and some related to the living of ware wolf children in human society.
This anime is a great example of a mother's love and definitely gives a thrill and hits the audience directly into the heart.

This anime pictures the time when an earthquake of magnitude 8.0 hits Tokyo, Japan.

Even after a few years, Hotaru comes back to the same mountain forest to meet Gin. where she gets to know that Gin is a mountain spirit having a curse that if touched by anyone, he will vanish forever.
This anime shows the building of love from the friendship between a normal human and a spirit. Where once again a tragic end takes place.

This anime revolves around a group of friends to help the ghost of their dead friend, to find out her last wish and fulfill it so that she can return to the afterlife.
Menma, a girl who dies in an accident, returns to the world as a ghost to haunt her friend Jintan. But they both don't know, why did she come back after 5 years. So he takes on a task to find her last wish and to make it true so that she can rest in the afterlife.
Shockingly, that last wish was connected to Jintan, and was he ever able to realize that. Watch the anime.

As the rainy season starts, he builds a habit of going to a garden on the day it rains, where he meets an older woman Yukino, a teacher at Takao's school, about which he doesn't know.
As time passes, they build a really good understanding and Takao makes his mind to gift his first hand made shoes to Yukino, the next time, he meets her at the garden. But she never came.
Many emotional and tragic events take place in this anime, that you wouldn't want to miss.
