Anime story-1, Chapter-1, Section-3. Story#1.

The Prophecy

Haru, bit by bit coming to his senses felt like a huge load taken off of his mind.

Trying to move up his eyelids with great efforts, the beam of light rays streaming through air and reflecting on the retina, creating a blurred image of the Shoji(Japanese gate) present in front of him, made him feel uneasy again.

As time passed, his beady eyes transmutated itself to perceive the abode. He was lying on a Futan placed over the Tatami mats, diffusing out a distinct faint smell. In the front, the end of tatami foundationed the beginning of Shoji, grasped by the walls of woven bamboo plastered with Earth, standing to support Kakejiku(hanging scroll displaying Paintings and calligraphy) hanging there.

It mostly projected an image of typical old Japanese rooms with a wooden verandah outside.

Master Izumi, following a pavement swiftly in a supposedly wild and thickly dense forest, stops at the roots of a particular tree with distinct markings, as if he was waiting for someone.

After a while, a man, dressed black from head to toe, wearing cloth mask over his face, showed up out of nowhere, opposite to Izumi.

“I’ve got the list”, he squawked, softly, putting out a scroll and handing it to Izumi.

“Okay... I’ll take care of it. Anyways, what about the other masters”, he questioned him, slipping the scroll in his clothes.

“They will take care of the rest of the work”, he shot back, ready to move out in a hurry.

“Well, then, I’ll take care of this”, he promised.

“I’ve to go now”, Izumi slipped through the conversation as he sensed Haru gaining consciousness and vanished.

The all-new scenery and the still hurting bruises and injuries from the last savage beating were making Haru go wild and crazy. He was not able to hold on to this sudden altering of his life.

Forced by the mind to move out of new abode, was not supported by the body, even though, trying to move his right half to get on the belly.

“Son, what are you doing?... You know, you are not in the condition to stand up”, the voice of Izumi struck the ears of Haru.

“I... ah... aahhhh... I have to go. I can’t take this anymore”, Haru exclaimed, after rotating his visage in the direction of the voice.

“What are you saying?. You can’t go like this. You have to train”, Izumi commented, while moving towards Haru to comfort him.

“Train... You still thinking about training me... I was nearly killed in that encounter, I could’ve died... And you don’t even care about that”, Haru shouted while crying.

Izumi lays his gentle hand on Haru’s head to get him calm.

“Listen, son, I know that this situation is a little too much for you to grasp, but believe me, I won’t let anything happen to you”, Izumi promised, while comforting him.

“But, who were they? And why did they try to kill me? I don’t even know them”, Haru questioned,  looking for an answer.

“I... Guess it’s time to tell you the whole truth about the prophecy, now”, Izumi sighed.

“What do you mean by whole truth?. Wait for a second... What you said back there was not the real prophecy”, Haru chuckled, in a shocking voice with a pale face.

He was stumped.

“What I told you was half of the prophecy”, he felt sorry for him.

“Half prophecy only!. Then, what’s the remaining half prophecy”, curiosity was on it’s top again.

Izumi chuckled at first, then continued.

“Well... the only person who can end the terror of that man is you”, He came on strong.

“What are you saying?. That can’t be true. I am just a normal kid. How am I supposed to kill such a strong person...  Oh, I get it now, that prophecy must be false”, fear and anxiety covered Haru’s mind, incapable of thinking clearly.

“At first, we all thought, that the prophecy might have been false, but now, when, your parents are dead, The prophecy is definitely true”, He shot back with concern and sobriety dropping out of his eyes.

“Further, this whole prophecy was done when your parents were on the journey of learning “second gate of mental strength”. It was then, the second master came up with the prophecy”, stared at Haru while explaining.

“But why did he choose my parents only? He could have gone for someone else”, Haru broke into his explanation.

“We both know, how much skilled and valiant fighters, your parents were, and most probably, the second gate master would have known that before. His mental abilities are far more superior than any other person on this known Earth”, Izumi consecrated Haru over the prophecy.

“So, you are gonna force me to train, so that I can terminate the terror of that man”, Haru gazed over Izumi to listen to his response.

“I will never force you. It’s all going to be your decision. But remember, his people are going to come for you, to eliminate you and the prophecy. So, If you want to protect yourself and your aunt, at least, then you will definitely have to train. And for once, also think about the people who have lost their loved ones due to that man”, Izumi slipped his point, cleverly.

Haru’s expressions altered, forced to think over his decision, once more.

“I... I’ll train, for my parents and my aunt”, the fire burnt in his eyes, determined to make his own way.

“But, what if I am attacked once more while training”, he asked in discomfort and fear.

“Son, you are my responsibility and I will protect you with my life. So rest for now, and we will start your training after you get better”, Izumi insisted, showing care for Haru.

“uhhhh.... okay...”, he responded.

“Good then, you rest now and I’ll bring your medication and something to eat”, he declared and skidded out swiftly.

A week passed with the same routine and the day to initiate Haru’s training arrived.

Izumi standing straight, almost in steady position with no sign of hesitation on his face, surrounded by an open grassy area, at the toes of a hill right in front of his eyes.

Haru, on his legs, wearing few bandaids to cover, almost healed bruises, standing on the right of Izumi.

“Haru, on the journey of learning 5 gates, your basic training is going to begin now.”

“Yes, master”, he responded with full force.

“You have to run over this hill and come back, 20 times till evening”, he declared in a strong voice.

“What!... 20 times, but this is just next to impossible. How can I do this?... Master, please decrease the hardness of the training”, Haru pleaded with puppy-dog eyes.

“Listen Haru, if you really want to protect people you care about then you have to do as I say, and this is your first task. Complete it. Remember, the key to success is your determination and “to never lose” spirit. Think about the people you love and proceed with the training”, he vanished in the next blink of Haru’s eyes.

Left alone, he inhales deeply and makes up his mind to stand firm in all types of tasks and conditions, after projecting memories of the people, he wants to protect, in his mind.

Suddenly, a voice skids down to his ears,

“So, you are Haru...”
